Book Review #4: Romance, Holiday Fiction

This series started strong for me, but fizzled out. Who wouldn't love a story about a fictional seaside town in Scotland? The characters and the town were charming, however, that wasn't enough. Some story lines dragged on and when the author got to the plot twist of two particular characters, the book ended in a cliffhanger. Now, in all fairness, there are 2 more books in this series and they were queued up on my Kindle ready to go. The fifth book started felt like I was reading a whole new series. New characters, new town, new everything. I was excited to find out happens, it was like the rug was pulled out from under me. I quickly returned the book and kept on with my #TBR list. As I'm writing this I changed the rating from a 4 to a 3.5. I just couldn't with the let down.

This wasn't exactly my favorite book from the The Dream Harbor series, but it was cute and a nice change from the dark romance and fantasy I've been reading. Again, I'm a sucker for a story that takes place in a small town where everyone knows everything. This is book four of this series and its the story about world-renowned chef, Archer, who moves to Dream Harbor after discovering he had a daughter, and Iris. He needs a nanny and she needs a job and a place to live. It's a slow-burn love story, with the right amount of romance and a hint of spice.
